TEDDY LO STUDIO MAKES ITS FIRST PUBLIC LAUNCH OF VICTORIA HARBOUR SPEKTRUM
New media and light artist Teddy Lo proposes to make Victoria Harbour the world’s largest digital canvas
Hong Kong, 30th March 2016 – Teddy Lo Studio will be launching its latest conceptual project, Victoria Harbour Spektrum to the public for the first time at PMQ. Happening this 14 to 20 April 2016, the exhibition will present Teddy Lo’s vision to reinvent Hong Kong's current Victoria Harbour light show. The exhibition will be open for public and primarily welcoming all Hong Kong media, designers, students and organizations to visit and join in the discussion of realizing this vision.
Teddy Lo first began to visualize Victoria Harbour Spektrum as an opportunity to make Victoria Harbour the world's largest digital canvas spanning across our night sky. This idea would be presented in the exhibition through technology known as projection mapping, featuring the simulated Victoria Harbour skyline in the form of 3D models.
Teddy Lo, internationally renowned New Media and Light Artist and Founder of Teddy Lo Studio said: “While watching The Symphony of Lights over Victoria Harbour, I had always imagined what it would be like to design a version of my own. This led to my thought of creating a digital platform that allows me, other artists, students and everyone in Hong Kong to design their own light shows for this spectacular skyline located right at the heart of Hong Kong. My hope is that the harbour will become a space for brightening up the city and excite its citizens. It will create an opportunity for everyone, not only artists to express themselves through designing a light show for VHS. It will then become a platform that encourages creation, collaboration and continuously evolving with new works which can be celebrated by both Hong Kong and international audiences.”
Interested parties may schedule private viewings of the project during the exhibition period and the media are invited to schedule interviews with our studio team. The team will present the VHS project and projection mapping show to all visitors. With this project Teddy Lo Studio is calling upon the community to take part by attending the public exhibition at PMQ, spreading the word and providing feedback, as the studio believes the night sky belongs to everyone in Hong Kong.

About Victoria Harbour Spektrum
Teddy Lo Studio is proposing a flexible multimedia platform, which integrates and controls all of the participating buildings of the existing Victoria Harbour light show with a single control system that links the facades, lighting, and projections together for a synchronized presentation. The versatility and flexibility of the system would allow the artist to manipulate and change the show with ease. It would also integrate an interactive system which will allow the general public to participate in the real time. Website: www.HKVHS.com
